When my grandfather introduced me to coin collecting in 1975 I quickly developed a favourite -- The Lincoln Wheat Cent. Over the course of my life I accumulated coins across all denominations, except some of the higher gold. This accumulation was spread among disorganized periods spanning the last few years of the 1700’s through 2019 and across a variety of grades.

In August of 2020 I decided that my collection would be reduced to 145 coins from primarily the Progressive Era designs. My anticipated collection will consist of 140 standard Lincoln Wheat Cents, a 1912 S Liberty Nickel, a 1916 D Mercury Dime, a 1927 S Standing Liberty Quarter, a 1921 D Walking Liberty Half and a 1928 Peace Dollar all in the highest Mint State condition that I can afford.

Currently I have complete sets of the Indian Head Cents, Walking Liberty Halves and Peace Dollars. My Lincoln Wheat Cent collection is missing just 15 coins in Mint State. They are; 1909S VDB, 1912D, 1912S, 1913S, 1914S, 1917S, 1918D, 1918S, 1919S, 1920D, 1923S, 1924S, 1925S, 1927D, and 1927S. My goal is a minimum grade of MS63.

As I make upgrades to my Lincoln Wheat Cents collection I will offer my replaced issues here along with coins I still retain which are outside of my desired collection.
